History of perfume and its Ingredients


People have used perfume, cologne and fragrances on their bodies for thousands of years in lesser or greater amounts dependent on fashion whims. Products that used to feel of skin and the smell of the body have been highly valued in every culture. In the late 19th century first real era of perfume was came as we know it when new scents were created because of advances in organic chemistry knowledge. France became a center for flower and herb growing for the perfume industry. Perfume is made from about 78% to 95% of specially denatured ethyl alcohol and a remainder of essential oils. Perfume is the costliest form of fragrance with 22% of essential oils. Place of apply of perfume are such crook of your elbow and back of knees, wrist, neck and cleavage. Three notes are used in evaporation process of the perfume. That is Top notes, Middle notes, and Base notes.

Top Notes: Top notes consist of small, light molecules that evaporate quickly. It is the initial impression of a perfume and thus is very important in the selling of a perfume. It also called the head notes.

Middle Notes: The middle note is the main body of a perfume and act to mask the often unpleasant initial impression of base notes, which become more pleasant with time. They are also called the heart notes.

Base Notes: Base notes bring depth and solidity to a perfume. Compounds of this class of scents are typically rich and "deep" and are usually not perceived until 30 minutes after application.
